    The Salt Lake County Clerk's Office performs marriage ceremonies during business hours for couples with a valid marriage license issued by any county in Utah. A ceremony fee of $50 is required in addition to the $50 marriage license fee (if obtaining a license from Salt Lake County). Both parties. A state driver's license or other valid identification for both parties. Two people age 18 or older to act as witnesses.

    There is no waiting period before you can get married. As soon as you get your license, you can get married. However, the license is only valid for 32 days. If you do not have the marriage solemnized within that time, the license will expire. Two witnesses over 18 must also be present at the wedding ceremony. You must be at least 16 years old to be married in Utah. If you are 18 or older, you do not need consent of a parent or guardian to get married.

    A license issued within this state by a county clerk may only be used within this state. A license is considered used within this state if the officiant is physically present in the state at the time of solemnization of the marriage. At least two individuals 18 years old or older witness the declarations of intent and the pronouncement. A license that is not used within 32 days after the day on which the license is issued is invalid.
