Privacy
We do not ask who you are, sell personal information, or build advertising profiles. Recently viewed jurisdictions stay in your browser.
What we do not collect
The checker never asks for a name, date of birth, Social Security number, address, a former spouse’s details, or an uploaded document — and there is nowhere for you to enter them. There is no account system, no sign-in and no newsletter.
The ceremony date you optionally enter is used in your browser to work out an application window. It is not transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
What is stored on your device
If you view jurisdiction pages, the site may keep a short list of them in your browser’s local storage so it can offer them again. That data never leaves your device, and clearing your browser storage removes it permanently.
Location
The site does not request location permission. You tell us the jurisdiction; we never try to detect it.
Aggregate analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate, cookieless page and referrer counts. We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand overall acquisition and page performance. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled; Google Analytics may use first-party measurement cookies according to your browser settings.
Third parties
Procedure pages render from data published with the site itself, and fonts are served from this site rather than a font network. Aggregate analytics are the only measurement services used. Links to official government pages are clearly marked; once you follow one, that office’s own privacy practices apply.
Server logs
The hosting provider records standard request logs, including IP address and user agent, for delivery and security. We do not combine them with anything else or use them to identify individuals or build advertising profiles.
